Dielectric Material

Mainly used to manufacture capacitors. The material is required to have a high electrical resistivity and a large dielectric constant. There are many types, important are rutile (TiO2) porcelain, titanium oxide-containing composite oxide ceramics, such as calcium titanate, magnesium titanate, barium titanate and the like. Mica has a layered structure and is easily peeled off into a sheet, and is suitable for use as a laminated capacitor. Hexagonal boron nitride has high temperature resistance and high thermal conductivity, and is an ideal high-temperature thermal conductive insulating material. A white gemstone (α-Al2O3), a spinel (MgO·Al2O3) or the like can be used as a substrate material for an electronic device on which a single crystal silicon film can be grown.
